Born Pretty Halloween Plate & Black Stamping Polish Review

Reviewing a number of items from Born Pretty today. This square Halloween plate and their 6ml Black Stamping polish. They arrived after the date, but I missed most of October, so I get to do some spooky nails anyway.

I created a lightly sponged background to create a lighter night sky look so the black would really pop on this, as I wanted to test out the opacity of the black polish. The plate was full of fun Halloweeny images, and even though it didn’t quite arrive in time for Halloween, who says you can’t wear spooky nails at any time of year?

The image below shows the BORN PRETTY Stamping Plate Square – you can see thatit features a number of Halloween themed imagery including Cat, Witch, Bat, Tree & Moon: Halloween Day S002 is the name of the plate and it is still available if you want to stock up for next year.

I liked the moons, bats, witches and trees the most. I wanted to create a gradient out of the moon image, but it’s not big enough for my plans as you can see on the nail, but from the promo image I wasn’t sure what size it would be. The plate itself is 6x6cm and comes in a protective film. It’s not as deeply etched as the thicker rectangular plates, so I recommend using a light touch when scraping and lifting and you should have no troubles.

The black  polish is a 6ml BORN PRETTY Stamping Polish from the White Night Stamping Series – it is called “Throne” (the white is called Pure) and I have used the Red “Dark Amour” here recently. I’m always on the hunt for black stamping polishes to add to the collection, and I like this one.

It’s a nice consistency and is not too thick. Runny without being watery, which is great for getting into the small fine lines of stamping plates. Thicker polishes can be a little harder to use in some of the shallow etching plates. I found it picked up well on both a clear jelly stamper and a regular squishy type stamper. I also tried it with the small 1cm pencil stamper for Maniology and it worked well with that too.

Look, I did shoot a video to go with this but my back is still recovering, I need lots of rest and am not up to sitting for long periods so the editing of that will have to wait. I may just chalk it up as not completed. I was going to post everything when the footage was finished & edited but I am just going to leave it for now. I don’t want to wait any longer to post my reviews and can’t say when I can cope with doing videos again quite yet, as frustrating as it all is.

But that concludes my Born Pretty Halloween Plate & Black Stamping Polish Review and demonstration. See links below!

          Yep, DONE!

It’s hard to say without seeing it. You can email me a pic, but I was gonna do a post one day cos I get asked this a lot LOL. Often people don’t use enough polish on the sponge and it looks patchy when applied. ✨ So try using a generous amount of polish on the sponge. ✨ Slightly overlap the colours as you put them on the sponge, and that will definitely improve things. ✨

          Lemme know if that helps!
