Welcome! I have a preview of the coming month’s limited edition installments from Aussie Indie brand Hit the Bottle. This stamping polish is Start the Day with Bubbly – Hit the Bottle‘s inclusion in the Polish Pickup (PPU) for June 2019 – Polish Pickup Swatches are below.
The full details and description of this lacquer is listed below the images in The Rundown section.
The June theme is Weather Phenomena. And the inspiration for this lovely shade was frozen ice bubbles.
Despite being a stamping polish, I also tried wearing it as a regular polish. It isn’t intended for long-wear this way due to the saturated pigments, but you can see the results in the Rundown and in my swatches below.
So how does it stamp? Of course that is the burning question. And the answer is beautifully! Look how opaque this is! Shown here over black, white, mid-pink and blue tones for your convenience.
There is nail art using this polish, coming in a separate post in a couple of days, but here is a sneak peek for those who were lucky to catch this post early 😍 This shade gave me a mystical vibe, and I wanted to include some solid stamping to show off the shimmer. So I combined it with some soft colours and shapes, loosely based on Zener cards
Below is a video of frozen ice bubble forming for those interested. I love these things! If you have never seen or heard of them, it’s worth a watch, because science yo! 😉
I hope you enjoyed Start the Day with Bubbly – Hit the Bottle, PPU June 2019 – Polish Pickup Swatches and Nail Art photos.

THE RUNDOWN:
Name: Start the Day with Bubbly – available online at ThePolishPickup.com.
Brand: Hit the Bottle (visit site)
Collection: Polish Pick Up [PPU]
Colour (or family): Purple
Type & Finish: Crème, Shimmer
Size: 9ml / 0.3oz
Formula & Application notes:
FOR WEAR AS A REGULAR POLISH: Smoothly applies when sponged on – it took 2 thin coats for full opacity. Quality stamping polish should never be expected to wear as well as a regular polish due to the high pigmentation. Though I have a few tricks I use to make it last longer.
These are: first sponging it on, to keep it thin and smooth. Then top with a gel top coat for longer wear, or 2 generous coats of a quality top coat (like Seche, Glisten & Glow etc.) for shorter wear.
STAMPING POLISH: A super pigmented polish, with flawless application. Stamping is the intended application and it does not disappoint. You can see all there is to see from the swatches above in terms of opacity.
The Verdict:
Win, win from me! HtB’s creator makes excellent stamping polishes that stamp well over lights and darks – importantly, black. This one certainly achieves it’s purpose. It’s super pigmented and was great to work with.
I really enjoyed how it appears different depending on the lighting. But as this is limited edition, you’ll want to add this to your list now and set yourself a reminder to nab one during the window below.

How It Works:
The Polish Pickup (PPU) polishes are a limited edition shade usually available for pre-order for a limited time at beginning the First Friday of each month (US Timezone).
THE CONCEPT: Each month PPU brings you a variety of polishes from indie makers based on a theme voted on by you. Voting takes place on the website. Indie makers can come and go as they please, and all are welcome.
PRE-ORDER TIMES: The Shop is open for pre-orders/goes live the first Friday at 11 AM EST, of each month and stays open for four days, through to the following Monday at 11:59 PM EST. This is the ONLY time frame in which the monthly polishes will be available for purchase. The remainder of the site remains open all month long for browsing and communication purposes.
