31DC2015 Day 05: Blue – Sea What I Did There?

Day 5 already of the 31 Day Challenge (aka #31DC2015 if you’re playing along on Insta or Twitter). We’re about half way through the colour section of the challenge. For those of you participating, how are you all going? Hanging in there still given it is the weekend?

Today’s prompt is Blue. A lovely colour indeed IMHO, so this one was enjoyable. There was no shortage of blue polish options to choose from in my stash given how much I like hues of blues. On to the nail art, shall we?

A sneak peek of the main polishes used… Full list below.

OPI’s Pure 18K is my favourite of their gold and silver leaf polishes. The bottle is kind of luxe too. I used this polish for highlights on the sun, though you can’t tell from the images. It is more noticeably ‘sparkly-ish’ in real life.

I thought today I should mix it up a little. Get a little painterly and aim for the ocean instead of the stars. I love the water. It’s rather calming. Truth be told, I’d happily be lounging about in some crystal clear water in St Bart’s right about now, if all things in life went to plan and I could make it happen; instead I’ll have to make that daydream come to life on nails instead. Stamps, paint and all.

Carribean Cocktails

Maybe that can be the end goal. Get through the challenge and treat ourselves pass out exhausted on a white beach in the Carribean, refuelling with icy cocktails as a reward. Sounds good right? Who’s with me?

SUPPLIES USED FOR THIS NAIL ART:

Main Polishes:

  • Essie – Bikini So Teeny
  • OPI – Pure 18K

This is a very nice design, but I must ask you, is this false nails on top of your natural, they look a bit wide imho. 🙂

Thank you. Yes unfortunately I whacked a couple of nails on Day 1-2 and had to cut them down 🙁 so had to resort to falsies for the rest of the week. Haha, I know they are definitely a bit wide, but it’s all I had left on hand. This week has been so full I haven’t had any extra time to get extensions or file/shape them, but the plan is to sort it out in the coming days. So only temporary 😀

Hehe, thanks Danielle. I aim to please with the puns and Dad jokes.
(I mean it was Father’s Day in some parts, so someone has to do it) 😉
