Blue and white for Liam – Mani Swap Circle Special Edition, August 2017. Posted a couple of days into September for the anniversary of Liam’s tragic death at the hands of a drunk driver. Nice, but obviously sad to be part of such an occasion. Drink driving deaths are completely avoidable, and I’ve had a number of friends lost to that similar fate.
The aim was to recreate a mani of your chosen person in Blue and White. And to incorporate a ‘blue ribbon’, which I somehow managed to think was a ‘white bow’ into it somewhere. I was given a mani from @really_nailed_it and chose a floral stamping from Valentines’ Day to recreate for the occasion. Flowers say it all 🙂
I used Essies and couldn’t pick one so used a bunch! The bow covered the badly broken nail that finally decided to grow long enough and worked to camouflage it, so that was just lucky.
As the story goes, to give you an idea what this monh is raising awarenesss for:

Organ donation is VERY IMPORTANT, thus glad to support this. I’ve always been an organ donor. But it is not just organs, it is Organs & Tissues that are in dire need – tissues include heart valves, corneas (eye), even skin (for grafts)
Interestingly, countries leading #organdonation are Croatia, Spain, Iceland. The US ranks about 6th, UK about 15th and Australia about 18th – which is sadly not enough considering people often die on waiting lists. 1 donor can help 10 people’s lives! So it’s an important cause that does need publicising and encouraging. And talking to your loved ones of your wishes. Are you a donor? ✌
