31DC2018 Day 26: Inspired by Pattern – 80s Pastel Print

Continuing with the 31 Day Challenge for 2018. We’ve hit Day 26’s Inspired by a Pattern prompt. For this I chose to do an 80s Pastel Print.  [Explore entries on Instagram #31DC2018 ]

I had all sorts of ideas for this one that involved freehand painting, but wanted to use some Maniology plates and pastels instead when I sat down to do it all. I just made it up as I went along. As long as it was 80’s looking suited me fine for this day’s art. I didn’t have much time to do anything more than some fun stamping. I didn’t actually mattify this one in the end either haha!

It involved a helluva lot of stamping of itty bitty shapes and patterns, and a pile of acetone and cotton pads. I really should have mattified it.

The end is nigh! I can see a light at the end of a long dark tunnel… It’s covered in boxes and a never-ending list of extra shit to do all of a sudden, but it is there! It exists!!

We are nearing the end of this Challenge and I for one am supremely glad! The tech issues and delayed fixes, really delayed noise, and extra delayed stuff I’ve been waiting on have made this and the last week feel like a real chore. There’s a long weekend ahead and instead of relaxing I’m now faced with the stress of a mad rush.

So please excuse me if I’m slow to get back over the coming days. I have too much to do, in far too little time (out of my control), so it means I’m also gonna have to delay the giveaway by a few days. So I’ll leave it at that for now and pop back to post when I can. But checking out the other manis is just gonna have to wait.
