31DC2018 Day 18: Half Moons – Chunky Craters

Running a day behind but still continuing with the 31 Day Challenge for 2018. We’ve hit Day 18’s Half Moons prompt. For this I chose to do a mani that was literally a “Half Moon, Moon Theme” – which I nicknamed Chunky Craters.  [Explore entries on Instagram #31DC2018 ]

That’s a tasty heart-shaped cookie I am holding cos my hands kept going awkward due to the bling and I needed to show it properly (ie; at the right angle)!? And yeah, it was delish, cos it’s didn’t sit around long after the shoot.

I’m enjoying the abstract interpretations of things lately (not so much interpretive dance, specifically nail art related). So since I decided upon a literal “Half Moon, Moon Theme” I started out doing some double stamped half moons with silvery metallic spots like the craters on the face of many satellites. I did a pointy chevron, to represent the rocks and sharp kinds of rocks you get on arid moon surfaces too.

I wanted to do a chunky blinged out half moon thing, so I used all manner of crystals, beads, studs and fake pearls in a chunky arse gel to keep it on for the day. That shiz was not coming off by the end of it. In my “Half Moon, Moon Theme” this mixed bag of bling was kind of meant to be like the mixture of various elements you might find on any random moon or satellite.

Also I don’t think I’ve sad the word moon enough…

PS: Stil catching up on posts and posting. Still a day behind as didn’t quite get on top of it as I thought I would today due to other obligations. So will be back on track (posting on the right day) before the weekend still, finger’s crossed. Same with responses. It’s so hard and time consuming to do it all.
