Continuing with the 31 Day Challenge for 2018. We’ve hit Day 17’s Glitter prompt and are just past the halfway mark. For this I chose to do a sea-inspired Oceanic Glitter Bomb. [Explore entries on Instagram #31DC2018 ]
I was inspired by the sea, or rather the starry night sky reflecting into over the ocean, and loosely recreated something minimal depicting these vibes. Very abstractly minimal, but that is what I was going for because I wanted the negative space aspect to shine on through. I haven’t done nearly enough of that lately!
I encapsulated the glitter in layers of gel and added a few crystals and beads to the mix. I was going to add more layers of colour, to tie in the negative space, but due to time and current energy levels, left it as is, so the beads add a bit of texture that would have been submerged. They irk me a little but really, don’t care too much about it right now. It’s a bit less polished looking than what I envisioned, but I’m posting late. As mentioned a few days ago I would be.
I’ll be catching up due to the sudden disruption (and lack of connection) over the next day or two, with challenge nail art and continuing swatches. So should be back on track to the daily posts soon. Thanks for bearing with. Will catch up on the other manis again before the weekend!

This look makes me want to get lovely long claws so I can recreate it! Would just not look as good on shorties…

I love glitter on long nails, I think the length has more room for play.
Though I still like it on shorties, maybe even one accent nail worn slightly longer…
Would love to see your version if you ever do one 😎
