Another favourite subject matter for nail art personally is the Galaxy Nail. So imagine my excitement for today’s challenge theme: GALAXIES. ❤
I have always had a slight obsession fascination with stars, the universe and how it all worked (which even led me to read Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time as a kid). Naturally then it makes sense that I love the layered look of a good galaxy nail – whether pastel or dark. Today I went for a pastel feel since I’ve been in a pastelicious kind of mood lately. Indeed.
I used a whole bunch of different pastel polishes and glitters. From Essie, OPI, piCture pOlish, Essence & China Glaze – whew! It’s not the most complex galaxy nail I’ve ever done, and I ran out of puff before adding adornments, but after 19 days of epic polish-a-thon, I still like them. Given the pastel mood I’ve been in I know I will not want to take them off.
And from a different angle so you can see the ‘stars’. This galaxy nail is more subtle than most that I do. It was too overcast to capture the sparkly bits, but they are subtly layered in there somewhere. Perhaps squint and pretend? It also helps to read that second last sentence in a Neil deGrasse Tyson voiceover.
Speaking of which, this downspeed video of Neil deGrasse Tyson in slow motion makes me laugh. Perhaps I am easily amused. The best part is at 2:30 min, so you might want to just skip ahead to 1:50 min for a lead in.
