Today I’ve got the Penny Royal Blues – a mani created with Picture Polish BonBon & NEW Fleur De Lis nail vinyls. I adore this blue immensely and am so glad I grabbed it given how different it looked in every swatch I’d seen up until that point (greener or lighter than it is in real life). I’ve tried to shoot the polish in it’s more true-to-life colouring here.
I used a couple of these Fleur de Lis stencils and protected the skin around the nail with some latex barrier. God this stuff is so much fun to peel off. Before it was ‘a thing’ I used to use regular masking latex, which is more or less the same thing but a bit thinner. I use it for art and design purposes, so had some subtly tinted blue stuff.
Just to make sure the edges were crisp I sponged on the copper metallic colour.
And to let the colour pop through a little more gloriously I kept the index and pinky simple and added a simple trio of golden studs to each. Et voila!
