This polish is shown here over a stark pure white base as intended to be worn.
THE RUNDOWN:
Name: Life Gave Me Lemons
Brand: OPI
Collection: Neons by OPI. Summer 2014 (mid-year)
Colour (or family): Green-toned Lemon
Type & Finish: Crème, Neon
Size: 15ml / 0.5oz
Formula & Application notes:
It dries quickly and slightly matte being a neon, so you might wish to try using thinner layers and building up to 2 coats. Not a great self-leveller. Best used over a pure white base, to make the colours pop. Shown here with 2 coats over white and HK Girl Top Coat.
The Verdict:
It’s brighter than shown here in the sun and I quite like this unique colour. There are a lot of similar lime greens, pinks and orange neons, but this yellow is more different to neon yellows in other brands’ collections. I don’t consider this to be a true neon though, since I have seen brighter yellows that are truly neon. This is more like a citrusy bright.
A white base is really needed to ramp up the brightness, so if you don’t like to have to use ‘undies’ you might wish consider other shades of neon yellow.
