Opallac So Soiree – Gel Polish Swatch

This berry shade is Opallac So Soiree – a Gel Polish & Swatch continues below.

And a different angle under slightly different lighting conditions:

THE RUNDOWN:

Name: So Soiree – available here or select Priceline (AU) stores
Brand: Opallac
Collection: Core Collection
Colour (or family): Berry
Type & Finish: ‎Crème
Size: 7.5ml / 0.25oz

Formula & Application notes:
Smooth and slightly jellyish crème, this colour required 3 thin coats to reach full opacity. You could get away with 2 but being a thinner shade, I could still see VNL (visible nail line) and didn’t want that showing in the swatches. So it might be better applied with 3 thinner layers if you are someone who prefers the same.

Other than that had no issues with this particular gel polish.

The Verdict:
As it was red toned, the camera – as many do, loves to freak out and interpret these berry shades as much redder than they are IRL (in real life). So the tone of the photos above is mixed to show how it appears under different light. It is still a touch more plum/berry IRL than it appears on screen. (I couldn’t do much to improve it either as there was no sun and a lot of my stuff is in a different location.)

It’s a sweet, plum berry shade, actually quite similar to the sticker colour label. It was not as heavily pigmented as some of the other colours from this brand, so as mentioned I needed to do more coats to achieve complete coverage (with no VNL), but your mileage may vary. It was thinner and less viscous than some of the other Opallac shades, so I do recommend you apply it in thinner coats to avoid potential sidewall pooling and achieve the smoothest finish.
