31DC2015 Day 24: A Book – Green Eggs & Ham

Today’s 31 Day Challenge prompt is literally literal. It’s Day 24 and the prompt is Inspired By A Book – Green Eggs & Ham. More like devilled eggs, but I thought I should go a bit Seuss. You might have guessed by now that I do have an often warped sense of humour, so it made sense to run with it some more.

There were a bazillion options for this one, but I decided to do a bit of freehand work and go for some greenery. Green Eggs and Ham is the Dr. Seuss best seller and I modelled today’s mani off the book’s illustrations. There’s the main character on the middle finger, staring at green ham (ring), and surrounded by a canvas of flying green eggs everywhere else. I didn’t get to 3D the yolks cos I had a shitter of a day and ran out of time.

Here is the cover of the book and a little excerpt in case sadly you’ve never Dr Seuss-ed in your life:

cover-green-eggs-and-ham

Do you like green eggs and ham

I do not like them, Sam-I-am.
I do not like green eggs and ham.

Would you like them Here or there?

I would not like them here or there.
I would not like them anywhere.
I do not like green eggs and ham.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am

…and on it goes. If you’re wondering, that character is Sam-I-Am.

Do you like green eggs and ham?
Perhaps you’d like them with fried Spam?
What about with spinach and cheese?
Or toast that makes you weak at the knees?

OK. Stop face-palming… I’ll stop pretending that I’m Dr Seuss. Though people have often wondered…

Thanks Amy! I really like doing freehand when I have the time, but since it’s usually way more time consuming I’m actively trying to fit a whole bunch into this last section of the Challenge 😀
